I Understand How Hard It Can Be.
Because I’ve walked through hard seasons too — and I understand what it takes to heal.
When you’re opening up to someone, it helps to know who they are — not just their credentials, but what really drives their work.
Hi, I’m Jennifer Burkhardt - a licensed counselor offering online therapy for adults in Texas and Florida.
I work with people who are carrying a lot and trying to hold it all together — especially moms navigating life transitions, anxiety, and the mental load that never seems to let up. Whether you’re juggling motherhood, feeling overwhelmed by change, or stuck in an anxious spiral... you don’t have to do it all alone.
Therapy feels like a real conversation — not a performance.
You don’t need the perfect words or a plan. You just need a space where you can be real, feel supported, and finally breathe a little easier.
Sometimes a client will say something they’ve never said out loud before — or admit something they’ve carried quietly for years. They’re bracing for my reaction.
Instead, I stay steady. I don’t rush to fix it or fill the silence. I just sit with them.
And often, that’s when the tears come. Or they’ll say softly, “I’ve never said that before.” That’s the moment we begin.
My approach is collaborative and down-to-earth — shaped by training, yes, but also by lived experience. I know what it’s like to carry invisible heaviness and keep showing up when you’re exhausted.
Our work isn’t about performance. It’s about honesty, steadiness, and building something sustainable — at your pace.
I know what it’s like to live with invisible heaviness.
In 2022, I lost my husband unexpectedly. Overnight, I became a solo parent — raising kids while trying to survive my own heartbreak. That season taught me how overwhelming and isolating life can feel, and how easy it is to look “fine” on the outside while crumbling inside.
I’ve also walked through infertility, career shifts, motherhood later in life, and the relentless mental loops anxiety can create. I know what it’s like to keep showing up when you’re exhausted — to carry responsibility while quietly holding your own grief.
These experiences don’t define me, but they shape the way I sit with clients — with deep respect, honest compassion, and a commitment to holding space for the real stuff. This is your space, and I’ll meet you exactly where you are.
Whether you’re navigating a big life transition, parenting through chaos, or trying to stay afloat under the weight of anxiety, I’m here to help you sort through what feels heavy and find a way forward that fits you.
When I’m not in session, I’m usually with my kids, sneaking in a walk, catching up on a favorite show, or claiming a quiet moment with coffee. Life has taught me to laugh when I can, cry when I need to, and rebuild as many times as it takes.
